B. Apostille and Consular Legalisation
A UK Apostille is an official certificate issued by the UK Government that verifies the authenticity of a document for use abroad. It confirms that the document is genuine, signed, and sealed by an authorised official.

How Fees Are Calculated
Fees depend on the specific service you require, such as:

Charges are based on the complexity of the task and time spent. To ensure accuracy, I will first review your documents and requirements before providing a detailed cost estimate.
Standard Rates
- Hourly Rate: £300 (VAT not applicable)
- Minimum Instruction Fee: £120
Booking & Deposits
To secure your appointment, I request an initial deposit, which will be:
- Deducted from your final invoice
- Refundable with at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation

I aim to provide transparent, fair, and tailored pricing to suit your specific needs. All fees are clearly outlined, with no hidden charges, and include relevant disbursements where applicable.
Notarial Fees
Charges are based on the complexity of the task and time spent. To ensure accuracy, I will first review your documents and requirements before providing a detailed cost estimate.
- Simple Matters A fixed fee may be offered for straightforward matters. This can include disbursements such as:
- Legalisation fees
- Postage and courier costs
- Consular agent fees
- Travel expenses
- Translation costs
- Complex or Time-Consuming Matters Charged at an hourly rate of £300, subject to a minimum fee of £120, plus disbursements. This may include time spent on:
- Preliminary advice
- Drafting and document preparation
- Telephone consultations
- Written correspondence (email, post, etc.)
- Legalisation arrangements
- Record keeping
Legalisation Fees
- Documents Notarised Elsewhere or Not Requiring Notarisation A fixed fee per attendance is charged for visits to:
- Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)
- Consulates
- Chambers of Commerce
- Other relevant institutions
- Apostille for Notarised Documents A fixed fee of £40 per document/apostille is charged for documents I have notarised.
Note: This fee is in addition to disbursements charged by these institutions, which may vary and change without notice.
Disbursements
Some documents require legalisation before they are accepted in the receiving jurisdiction. This may involve:
- Apostille from the FCDO
- Additional consular legalisation
I will advise on specific costs once your requirements are confirmed.
Comissioner for Oaths
As my practice focuses on international documentation, I reserve the right to decline acting as Commissioner for Oaths for documents intended for use in England and Wales.
If I do agree to act in this capacity, fees will be charged at the following statutory rate plus £100 handling/admin fee:
- £5.00 per affidavit or declaration.
- £2.00 per exhibit attached.

Payment Terms & Fee Policy

Payment Schedule
